On June 21st 2018, the residents of Ottery St Mary and West Hill went to the polls to vote for their very own Neighbourhood Plan. The result was a robust Neighbourhood Plan that will protect our town and villages until 2031. East Devon have to consider what is included in the plan when considering planning applications.
In December 2022 West Hill Parish Council voted to create their own Neighbourhood Plan rather than carry out a review of the existing Plan with Ottery St Mary Town Council. Both Councils will register their new designated areas and work will start on creating a new Neighbourhood Plan after the May 2023 elections.
