The Council have been having continuous dialogue with the Post Office since the changes that took effect last May. The Post Office in Ottery operate out of the One Stop shop in Yonder Street with the shop open 7am to 10pm each day. There have been reports of issues with the level of service and unreliable opening hours during the 8am to 8pm the Post Office was meant to be available.
The Post Office have advised the Council that during July they will operate from 8am until 6pm whilst more staff are being trained. From August 1st they advise they will be open 8am until 8pm, seven days a week. One Stop have committed to making their opening hours and any changes to them more visible.
Most of the previous Post Office services are available apart from Passport Check and Send. There have also been some changes to Foreign Currency availability.
Banking services are also available, but due to FCA money laundering regulations there are some limitations in the amount of cash that can be deposited for both personal and business accounts. For details of these limits, please see the FCA website.
