Ottery Help Scheme was initially set up in 1992 with the help of Ottery St Mary Hospital League of Friends, to give much needed support to local residents in times of illness or a period of life-changing circumstances.
Since then, the Scheme has gone from strength to strength, providing a number of services for local people and it continues to grow and develop in response to community need.
In 2002 Ottery St Mary & District Help Scheme became a charity in its own right and continued to work closely with other voluntary and statutory organisations.
In April 2013 Ottery Help Scheme was formed and today it stands as an incorporated charity and limited liability company.
All of our services are provided by our hard working and generous spirited volunteers, without whom we would not exist.
We work closely with many other organisations with the aim of sharing best practice to enable us to provide thoughtful and joined up support to our community.
The aims of Ottery Help Scheme are to unite and mobilise the goodwill of our community, offering support to local residents where it is needed most in times of illness, difficulty or life-changing circumstance.
