Footpath Closures for event for Beautiful Days

Devon County Council is proposing to make the temporary path closures that are detailed on the attached Notice and maps to enable the Beautiful Days 2024 festival to go ahead.

As with last year, there are two separate closures that need to be made:

  • a closure of a shorter length of paths from 5th to 30th August to enable set up and break down of the event; and
  • a ‘special event’ closure of slightly more network from 10th to 19th August to enable the event itself to happen.

This approach has been developed through discussion since 2019 with both the Ramblers’ Association and the event organisers – it seemed to work well for Beautiful Days 2022, 2023. The organisers keep the paths closed for only as long as is required to ensure site safety.

Footpath Closures as part of the flood repair work at Tipton St John / Coombe.

There are five footpath closures in the Tipton/Coombe area that will be closed for up to six months starting June 1st.

(Footpath 49, Second part of Coombe closure, has been extended till 31st May 2024 or until the work has been complete. Detail here)

Footpath 23 along the River Otter from St Saviours Bridge to The Tumbling Weir has been extended for a further six months. The closure is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to riverbank erosion.
